Lans is a rapidly-growing, versatile and innovative company. We produce and package highly-quality produce throughout the year, whereby we make use of the latest technologies, employ excellent and skilled staff, take full account of our corporate social responsibility, and devote due attention to the environment.

Planet
Our company attaches great importance to corporate social responsibility. We endeavour to achieve continual improvements in our operations by means of biological crop protection, the conservation of energy during the cultivation, and the minimization of light nuisance caused by assimilation lighting. The construction of a new type of glasshouse, the OptimaKas - the second at a glasshouse-horticulture company in the Netherlands - demonstrates the importance we attach to corporate social responsibility. The construction of the OptimaKas in the Province of Zeeland is a significant step towards the glasshouse as a source of energy. Our in-house generation of electricity achieves maximum efficiency in our use of fossil fuels.

People
Lans devotes a great deal of attention to our staff. We provide the best possible working conditions by implementing the requisite occupational health and safety measures, and by investing in aids that reduce physical effort. In many instances our measures extend beyond the requirements stipulated pursuant to the Netherlands Working Conditions (ARBO) Act. In November 2004 Lans was one of the first three glasshouse-vegetable companies to be awarded Investors in People certification. We had received ISO 9001 certification several years previously.

Profit
We are of the opinion that our endeavours to provide for people and planet are also beneficial to our company's profitability. Implementing continual improvements in People and Planet and maximizing the efficiency of the use of our resources both contribute to the optimization of our operations.
