Lighting at the Burgerweg
The branch at Burgerweg 32, with an area of 12.5 ha, is comprised of three glasshouses. Two of these glasshouses are equipped with assimilation lighting operating at two light intensities, i.e. 18,000 and 10,000 lux.
The branch's energy needs are met by four on-site co-generation plants. These plants generate a total of more than 8 Megawatt per hour (8000 Kilowatt per hour).
The first glasshouse at the Burgerweg was built in 1999, the second in 2001, and the last construction phase was completed in 2002. The branch's 'heart', located between the first and second glasshouse, accommodates the support facilities, including the warehouse, substrate storage area, boiler, climate-control system, and co-generation plants.
